Scripture reading for sermon
Good morning,
I had a wonderful time Monday walking around DC with our daughter. I thought to myself, there are so many great things to see and do, truly we are to give thanks to God for His great mercy. The Psalms talk often about giving thanks for God’s protection and strange to say His judging of the wicked. Psalms 57 and 58 explore these themes of mercy and judgment. I ask you to read thoughtfully over these as we look again at Malachi 4:1-6. Because we are made in the image of God we can fellowship with Him, and enjoy “inquiring into His temple.”
Look again at 2 Peter 3 and reflect on the Lord’s desire for righteousness in the earth. We can let go of resentment and personal revenge and stop wasting time on being “god junior” in the lives of others. Instead we can ask ourselves “what would please the Lord?” This simplifies life quite a bit.
See you Sunday,
Lee
