The Danger of Desire — Ecclesiastes 5:8-20
There is nothing inherently wrong with desire: they can be God-honoring, or directed elsewhere. We all have desires pulling us in both directions. But what is the overall tenor of your life? How do you respond to the desire-shaping movements within our culture?
The writer of Ecclesiastes, the Preacher, saw a great vanity in seeking pleasure, goals, and significance in material goods. Our materialistic culture is always driving us to the next greatest thing: TV, iPod, phone, etc. What is a Christian to do?
Listen and be encouraged to the words of the Preacher from Ecclesiastes. Seek to find your security, your true satisfaction in the righteousness that comes through Christ.
Solo Deo Gloria,
jason
