Sunday Notes, November 22, 2009

Dear folks,

How would you define sin? Is it a big problem for you? What happens when we sin? Some say we lose our salvation when we sin.

Guilt is a terrible consequence of sin and leads to all kinds of emotional and mental difficulties. We all struggle with sin as Galatians 5:16-18 clearly teaches. Unresolved guilt can trouble our souls, but Jesus can set us free from that terrible burden. Note Psalm 51

See Matthew 18:21-35; it shows how much we have been forgiven and how it affects our attitude toward others.

Luke 18: 9-14 shows the power of confession of sin and the terrible consequences of thinking we have no sin.

Does God’s forgiveness extend only as far as ours? See Matthew 6:12, 14-15. Is there a difference between loss of salvation and loss of fellowship?

Check out Mark 2:1-12 for the importance and surety of forgiveness of sin.

Let’s be ready to hear and obey the Lord’s word to us this Sunday.

If anyone has any questions about forgiveness, guilt, sin… let me know as we look at Matt. 6:12.
