CALL TO WORSHIP

I TIMOTHY 4:11-16

11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things.
Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness,
gentleness.
12
Fight the good fight of the faith.
Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called
and about which you made the good confession
in the presence of many witnesses.
13 I charge you in the presence of God,
who gives life to all things,
and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony
before Pontius Pilate made the good confession,
14 to keep the commandment unstained
and free from reproach
until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15
which he will display at the proper time—
he who is the blessed and only Sovereign,
the King of kings and Lord of lords, 1
6
who alone has immortality,
who dwells in unapproachable light,
whom no one has ever seen or can see.
To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

PRAISE & WORSHIP

HOLY GROUND by Geron Davis
We are standing on holy ground,
And I know that there are angels all around.
Let us praise Jesus now.
We are standing in His presence on holy ground.

HERE AM I by Brian Doerksen
Here am I: send me, Lord.
In my weakness I know You will be strong
Here am I: empow’r me.
Stretch out Your hand to heal the sick,
Stretch out Your arm and set the pris’ners free.
Oh, oh.

Come fill me with mercy.
Send me out to heal the broken hearted.
Come fill me with boldness.
I will speak Your words of life.
I will go in Your authority.
Oh, oh.

FACING A TASK UNFINISHED by Rt. Rev. Frank Houghton, Bishop in East Szechwan 1937-40, General Director of the China Inland Mission, 1930
Facing a task unfinished that drives us to our knees,
A need that, undiminished rebukes our slothful ease,
We, who rejoice to know Thee renew before Thy throne
The solemn pledge we owe Thee to go and make Thee known.

Where other lords beside Thee hold their unhindered sway,
Where forces that defied Thee defy Thee still today,
With none to heed their crying for life, and love, and light,
Unnumbered souls are dying and pass into the night.

We go to all the world
With kingdom hope unfurled.
No other name has power to save
But Jesus Christ The Lord.

We bear the torch that flaming fell from the hands of those
Who gave their lives proclaiming that Jesus died and rose.
Ours is the same commission, the same glad message ours,
Fired by the same ambition to Thee we yield our powers.

O Father who sustained them, O Spirit who inspired,
Saviour, whose love constrained them to toil with zeal untired.
From cowardice defend us, from lethargy awake!
Forth on Thine errands send us to labour for Thy sake.

MINISTRY OF THE WORD

Scripture:  Psalm 67

Sermon: Our Expression of His Blessing.
Selections from Deuteronomy 7-15

SERMON NOTES

ONE BIG IDEA

Our love for God is expressed in our holiness, our worship, and our generosity.

1) May we be zealous in our fight against sin; may we be zealous in our witness to the world.

2) The gathered worship of God includes gratitude, celebration, and fellowship.

3) We are blessed in part that we may be a blessing to others.

RESPONSE TO THE PREACHED WORD

WE WILL STAND by Russ Taff, Tori Taff, and James Hallifhan
You’re my brother, you’re my sister,
so take me by the hand.
Together we will work until He comes.
There’s no foe that can defeat us
when we’re walking side by side;
As long as there is love, we will stand.

TO HIM WHO SITS ON THE THRONE (Rev. 5:13)
Anonymous
To Him who sits on the throne
and unto the Lamb,
To Him who sits on the throne
and unto the Lamb,
Be blessing and honor,
and glory and power forever.
