For a livestream of the service, click here at 10 am on Sunday morning. Afterwards it will be available at the same link as a recording. If it doesn’t work properly at 10, it might mean we had a technical issue. If so, we will send out a new link to the recording.

I PETER 3:13-17
13 Now who is there to harm you
if you are zealous for what is good?
14 But even if you should suffer
for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed.
Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord
as holy, always being prepared
to make a defense to anyone
who asks you for a reason
for the hope that is in you;
yet do it with gentleness and respect,
16 having a good conscience,
so that, when you are slandered,
those who revile your good behavior in Christ
may be put to shame.
17 For it is better to suffer for doing good,
if that should be God’s will,
than to suffer for doing evil.

MIGHTY TO SAVE by Reuben Morgan and Ben Fielding
Everyone needs compassion, love that’s never failing;
Let mercy fall on me!
Everyone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a Saviour,
The hope of nations.

Saviour! He can move the mountains.
My God is mighty to save,
He is mighty to save, forever.
Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave;
Jesus conquered the grave!

So take me as You find me, all my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.
I give my life to follow everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.

Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King, Jesus!
Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King!

There is a Redeemer: Jesus, God’s own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Holy One.

Thank You, O my Father, for giving us Your Son;
And leaving Your Spirit ’til the work on earth is done.

Jesus, my Redeemer, Name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
hope for sinners slain.

When I stand in glory I will see His face,
And there I’ll serve my King forever
in that holy place.

SALVATION BELONGS TO OUR GOD by Adrian Howard and Pat Turner
Salvation belongs to our God
Who sits upon the throne and unto the Lamb:

Praise and glory, wisdom and thanks,
honor and power and strength
be to our God forever and ever,
be to our God forever and ever,
be to our God forever and ever! Amen.

And we the redeemed shall be strong
In purpose and unity, declaring aloud . . .

SERMON: From the Inside Out
Luke 11:37-54

We can be a wellspring of love and hope for others.

1) Jesus calls us to be instruments of love and life.

2) The message of the gospel lifts all burdens.

Rock of ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood, from Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure, save from wrath and make me pure.

Could my tears forever flow, could my zeal no languor know,
These for sin could not atone—Thou must save, and Thou alone:
In my hand no price I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling.

While I draw this fleeting breath, when my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown and behold Thee on Thy throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee.

Feel free to respond in prayer, aloud or silently, as the Lord leads.

SHINE, JESUS, SHINE by Graham Kendrick
Lord, the light of Your love is shining,
in the midst of the darkness shining;
Jesus, Light of the World, shine upon us,
set us free by the truth You now bring us,
Shine on me, shine on me.

Shine, Jesus, shine—fill this land with the Father’s glory;
Blaze, Spirit, blaze—set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river, flow—flood the nations with grace and mercy;
Send forth Your word, Lord, and let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence,
From the shadows into Your radiance;
By the blood I may enter Your brightness,
search me, try me, consume all my darkness,
Shine on me, shine on me.

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness,
So our faces display Your likeness;
Ever changing from glory to glory,
Mirror’d here may our lives tell Your story,
Shine on me, shine on me.
